Ruth Hull and her husband Richard plan to open a new micropub in Chorley village this month, not only will the micropub cater to the real ale lovers out there but also offer a range of different drinks for any cocktail drinkers too. The cocktail menu includes drinks such as a ‘Pornstar Martini’ or a ‘French Martini’ that includes vanilla vodka, Chambord raspberry liqueur with fresh pineapple juice. While cocktails are a different approach from the standard micropub, you won’t find any lagers on tap here.
Ruth said: “We’ll be serving some really nice real ales and really nice cocktails. That’s all we’ll be doing, no lagers, except bottled lagers, but none on draught. It’s a place for the more mature customer.
“It will be a bar with seating area and tall tables down the middle where people can stand and have a drink.”
The couple currently run a traditional award-winning pub ‘The Victoria’ in Aspull which won CAMRA pub of the season in summer 2013 and again in autumn 2014. The Victoria is also run along with their son and sister-in-law, the pub will still continue while Ruth and Richard begin their micropub journey.
