Husband & wife, Paul and Andrea Johnson, recently opened a new micropub in Rothbury, named after a nearby narrow pathway that is known by locals as ‘The Narrow Nick’.
Along with the new pub, the pair also run ‘The Office’ in Morpeth, ‘Acton Ales’ in Ashington & ‘The Foxes Den’ in Felton.
Speaking of the new micropub, Paul said: “We would like The Narrow Nick to win the North Northumberland category – and even Northumberland Pub of the Year – and follow on from what The Office has achieved.
“The first few weeks have been really good and we have had some good feedback. We have already got regular customers, which is something that we wanted to achieve. We have micropubs in Felton, Morpeth and Ashington and we wanted to open in Rothbury because it is a nice area with nice people.”
The micropub serves a range of real ales, ciders, wine & gin, with some of the drinks being produced by Acton Ales & others being guest rotations.
The Narrow Nick can be found on High Street in Rothbury where you can pop in for a pint between 5pm and 10:30pm.
