We love micropubs, well after-all that’s what this website is all about, and sometimes it’s great to go out to a nice part of the country at least just to try out a fine watering hole in the area. With this in mind we decided to pay a visit to the Derbyshire Peak District town of Bakewell where we would check out the Joiners Arms micropub that is located in the town centre.
Big and rustic inside
Upon setting foot inside this particular venue you can’t help but notice that this is actually one of the bigger-sized micropubs going, yet it still has the feel of a small watering hole. There are plenty of tables and chairs available in this single-room micropub so finding somewhere to relax with your pint shouldn’t be too much hassle unless it’s mega busy here.
Interior-wise this micropub does have a subtle-rustic feel throughout, namely at the bar area, the flooring, tables and chairs. Also to boot is the log burner for use during the colder months.
Now, back to the bar
We’ve mentioned that the room size of this micropub is bigger than normal, and the drinks range here is also big to boot. There are up to six cask ales to choose from here, most from breweries in and around the local area. For keg drinkers there are again up to six tipples available including a cider offering. The usual array of other drinks available include wines, whiskeys, spirits, and soft drinks.
Also worth mentioning that there are plenty of bottled and canned beers available available for takeaway here, ideal for anyone visiting here from further afield and wanting to take a fine Derbyshire ale home with them.
Worth a trip up the Peaks
There are plenty of reasons to visit the Derbyshire Peak District and one of them is to check out the Joiners Arms. There’s plenty of choice to sample here, oh and on warmer days you can choose to enjoy your tipples outside thanks to the outdoor seating available. Bakewell itself is a popular tourist destination with plenty of ale houses and the Joiners Arms is a welcome addition to the pack.
