Just weeks after Redcar received it’s first micropub, Jackie Pink, former perfume shop manager, has managed to bring a second to the area.
The Gypsy Rover micropub, located at 60 Station Road, has been converted from a former insurance provider office.
Jackie said: “Everything is related to travel, really. As well as where we got a lot of the fittings from, we’re on Station Road, we’re close to the station, the bus station, the sea, the centre of town – it’s perfect.
“And rovers will travel anywhere for a good pint of ale.”
and continued: “I realised micropubs were getting very popular and thought Redcar needed something different because we hadn’t had a new pub for such a long time. When I was young, we had seven nightclubs!
“My hope is to give Redcar something new with a warm atmosphere.”
The micropub has enough room to fit 50 people inside at any given time and provides “light” live music on weekends.
