Previously, the area in the Royal mail sorting and delivery office was used by Rushden’s Youth Project, before they changed location back in 2013. Since then, the space has been vacant. Gavin Wooding hopes to change this and bring a new micropub to the area, called ‘The Hopmaster General’.
If approved, The Hopmaster General will offer a selection of bottled & canned real ales, along with cask ales, ciders, wine and craft beers, with soft drinks & pub snacks also available. The micropub will also be able to provide enough room for 60 people.
The planning application says: “The primary aim of the venture is to bring choice to the consumers of Northamptonshire through the availability of a range of craft beverage products and will differentiate itself from other local businesses in this manner.”
If the application is successful, Mr.Wooding hopes to be serving punters towards the end of summer.
