Robert Witt, owner of the award winning ‘Totally Brewed’ micro brewery, located near Meadow Lane, has submitted plans to Broxtowe Borough Council in hopes of transforming a former sweet shop, formerly known as Sweets ‘N’ Treats on Chilwell Road, Beeston.
If approved, the new micro pub will potentially create two new jobs in the area, with plans of hiring one experienced person to work behind the bar, along with the idea of also creating a part-time position.
Speaking of the micro pub, Robert said: I’m very excited. I live in Beeston so it is just down the road from where I live. We are pretty busy as it is at the brewery so I’m not forward to the weekends spent doing it up.
“The whole climate of micro breweries has been getting bigger. There are very popular.
“A lot of bigger chain pubs are closing down because they are being forced to buy expensive beer. Because we are completely independent we can offer good beer at a good price.
“We are looking to promote some of our own beers and want to put on good quality real ales and craft lagers. ”
He continued: “It will have very low overheads so we don’t need many people to make it work. Instead of it being a large pub with people scattered around it will have more of an atmosphere.”
