Landlord of The Four Candles micro pub – Mike Beaumont is donating all proceeds from the first cask of ale to be brewed from Britain’s smallest pub in order to make a donation to ‘Brain Tumour Research’.
The charity relies on donation from the public as only 1% of the national spend on cancer research is allocated to this cause. The charity aims to fund brain tumour research in the same way as leukaemia & breast cancer.
Mike decided to help raise the money for Paul Taylor, a customer and former colleague who is living with a brain tumour after initially being diagnosed with migraines.
He said: “Mike and I are former journalists who worked together on newspapers in Kent.
“I have had great support from friends and the community since I was diagnosed in 2012 and it’s great to think that people have been raising a pint and helping this great cause.”
Paul currently awaits scan results every three months after having surgery two years ago to debulk the tumour.
