Couple, James and Katy Quayle, are currently putting together a planning application which will allow them to convert the empty ‘Blackburn is Open’ premises located on King William Street.
Locals have been hoping for a solution to the nightlife in the area, James and Katy believe the new micropub could be the solution that they are looking for, with hopes of punters moving to nearby pubs after visiting and vice versa.
James said: “We’re in talks to open a micro-pub serving real ales, fair trade teas and coffees, alongside some light meals, such as pies and sandwiches.
“Katy and I are working up a planning application at the moment.
“We hope to bring a bit of Darwen’s nightlife to Blackburn town centre, right by King George’s Hall.
“Hopefully, people will pop in to our micro-bar for a drink and then head on to other pubs nearby.
“And people visiting those establishments will drop into ours as well.”
