Saturday (3/12/2016) saw the opening of Rushden’s first micropub & bottleshop – The Hopmaster General, located at the town’s old Post Office on College Street.
Owner, Gavin Wooding described opening the micropub as a dream come true, he said: “Craft beer and real ale has been a love of mine for a long time so this is perfect for me.
“I see myself as a front-of-house sort of person and introducing people to something new.”
He continued “We have brought what was essentially a derelict property back into use.
“It was built in 1939 and used to be the Post Office.”
The micropub & bottleshop is open from midday-11pm all week round & has created five part-time jobs for Rushden.
The new micropub offers a range of craft beers & real ales, with bottles & cans available, along with ciders, wine, spirits & soft drinks.
