Steve Cresswell opened his new Belper based micro pub back in May this year and has since managed to build a loyal real ale fan-base in the area and received plenty of positive comments.
Steve has years of experience in the pub industry and previously ran the “Beehive” pub along with the sister micro pub “The Honey Pot” located in Ripley.
Steve said: “People have been really nice and supportive so far.
“We have lots of repeat customers already and the mayor told us he thought we had brought back a bit of life to this part of town, which was nice.
“We are also attracting people from all over – people are prepared to travel quite a distance for a good pint of beer.
“Some people have said we are a hidden gem – I like that.”
Mr Cresswell also added: “We want to encourage more people to drink real ale, explains Steve.
“Most people drink stuff like Fosters or Carling, but if they tried this they would find it is so much better.”
Locals seem to be highly impressed with the new venue, which in turn is bringing the community of Belper closer together and bringing life to the town.
The micro pub is located at No.29 The Market Place, where you’ll find Steve & Katy Creswell serving the finest real ales in the country from Thursday to Sunday between noon and 10pm.
Throughout August the micropub will also be open on Wednesday’s from 7pm till 11pm for “Classic rock night” where a £2 donation is collected to help provide support to local Belper charities.
